Frequently Asked Questions

Will Album permanently delete my photos?

No. When you swipe to delete a photo in Album, it is moved to your device's built-in "Recently Deleted" album. Photos stay there for 30 days and can be recovered at any time from the iOS Photos app. Nothing is permanently deleted until you empty the Recently Deleted album.

How does duplicate detection work?

Album uses perceptual hashing (dHash) to compare photos. This algorithm creates a fingerprint of each image and compares it against others to find visually identical or near-identical photos. Burst shots and edited versions of the same photo are also detected as duplicates. All analysis runs entirely on your device.

How does blur detection work?

Album analyzes the sharpness of each photo using a Laplacian variance algorithm. Photos with low edge detail scores are classified as blurry. You can review each detected blurry photo before deciding to delete it.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Album processes all photos entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your phone. We do not upload, store, or access your photos on any server.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Open the iOS Settings app → tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → find Album Pro → tap Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.

How do I restore a previous purchase?

Open Album → go to Settings → tap "Restore Purchases." Your previous Pro subscription will be reactivated automatically if you are signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

The app isn't detecting all my duplicates. Why?

Album's duplicate detection looks for visually similar photos. Edited photos with significant color or crop changes may not be flagged. If you believe a duplicate was missed, you can manually browse the Duplicates category and the Similar Photos category for near-matches.
